Weill Cornell Cardiothoracic Anesthesiologists to Share Research at SCA Annual Meeting

The 36th Annual Meeting of the Society of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiologists will be held from March 29-April 2, 2014 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Two of Weill Cornell Anesthesiology's own, Gregory Kerr, MD, MBA, Associate Professor of Anesthesiology, and Nikolaos J. Skubas, MD, FASE, DSc, Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology, will be presenting at panels the SCA.

The SCA is an international professional organziation of physicians. It describes its mission as "promoting excellence in patient care through education and research in perioperative care for patients undergoing cardiothoracic and vascular procedures." In addition to its Annual Meeting, the SCA sponsors numerous educational workshops for anesthesiologsts at all levels of their careers, and also offers grants through the SCA Foundation.

Dr. SkubasDr. Skubas will be presenting on Saturday, March 29th, during "Workshop 3: Advanced TEE." The panel will have five speakers. Dr. Skubas's talk will be "Strain Analysis and Speckle Tracking: The Role in the OR".

Dr. KerrDr. Kerr will be presenting on Sunday, March 30, during a panel for the Society of Critical Care Anesthesiologists. (SOCCA)  Dr. Kerr's talk will be "Surviving Sepsis, 2013, and Update".
 

In addtion to the Weill Cornell Anesthesiology faculty presenting at the Conference, three of the Department's Fellows in Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology will also be presenting.
