The Department of Anesthesiology Chair, Hugh C. Hemmings, Jr., MD, PhD, today announced Patricia Fogarty Mack, MD, as the Department's new Director of Quality and Patient Safety. Dr. Mack holds the faculty ranks of Associate Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology, Weill Cornell Medical College, and Associate Attending Anesthesiologist, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. As the Department's Director for Quality and Patient Safety, Dr. Mack will lead Department-wide efforts to continuously improve the safety, effectiveness, efficiency, patient-centeredness, and timeliness of health care to patients. She will also lead the Department’s efforts to achieve outstanding performance on key, nationally-standardized metrics of quality and safety in collaboration with Perioperative Services as well as with Non-Operating Room service areas.
