The Brooklyn Museum was the site of New York Methodist Hospital’s Candlelight Gala on May 14, with faculty from the Weill Cornell Medicine Department of Anesthesiology turning out to support the annual event. Attendees who enjoyed the evening’s dinner, dancing and awards presentation included Dr. Hugh Hemmings, Jr., chair of the department, and Dr. Nikolaos Skubas, chief of the cardiac anesthesiology division.
Drs. Lisa Rong, Cindy Wang, Christopher Tam, Nicholas Haralabakis and Shiyin Zhu also attended the black tie event.
The department's Division of Cardiac Anesthesiology has been an integral part of the cardiac service line at New York Methodist Hospital (NYM) since 2004. All types of cardiac surgical and minimally invasive procedures, such as transcatheter aortic valve replacement, are offered at NYM.
The Candlelight Gala represents NYM's major fundraising event of the year. Proceeds from the evening support its Center for Community Health, a new state-of-the-art outpatient care facility in Brooklyn.
NYM is affiliated with Weill Cornell Medical College, and is a member of the NewYork-Presbyterian Healthcare system.
